Keynote Speaker: Anissa Starnes

Forget what you thought you already knew and come prepared to soak up some easy, yet powerful, pieces of advice to advance your career and your professional life. These nuggets will make you stand out when you submit your resume, when you interview and when you want that next big promotion. There will also be some life-lesson tips thrown in for good measure. Practical suggestions that everyone can use no matter what stage of your career you are in.

Anissa Starnes owns a consultancy specializing in partnering with Chambers of Commerce and Nonprofits. She has more than 25 years of experience in supporting organizations.  Her passion is helping nonprofit professionals grow in their careers and helping organizations succeed.

Anissa has personally educated more than 30,000 small businesses and nonprofits over the past ten years and has spoken internationally on multiple occasions helping professionals and organizations be “authentic” and “genuine” in their marketing.

Prior to becoming an entrepreneur, Anissa served as the Director for National Organizations for Constant Contact overseeing the partnership with 7000 nonprofits. Prior to that she was proud to be the CEO with Girls on the Run International and held several CEO positions with multiple chambers of commerce in both North and South Carolina.  Anissa is a graduate of the University of Georgia’s Institute for Organization Management program and South Carolina Economic Development School at the College of Charleston.

Anissa and her husband Jerry reside in North Carolina and enjoy fly-fishing, long distance hiking and their beloved Carolina Panthers. Anissa is known as “Shiny” to her toddler granddaughter and that is her most favorite title that she has held to date.
